Safeguarding

The Manor C of E Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and insist that all staff and volunteers share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed below.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Flanagan (Headteacher). Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mr John Israel (Deputy Headteacher) with Mrs Halina Kelly (EYFS and KS1 Lead) our Assistant Safeguarding Lead. The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding in our school is Mrs Claire Aris.

Access and Response Team (ART)

When the public or professionals need to make a referral or raise a concern about a child, the Access and Response Teams (ART) will make the first assessment of what needs to be done to keep or make the child safe.

The ART Team can be contacted by anyone with a concern about a child - their number is: 01454 866000 (out of hours number: 01454 615165)

The Prevent Duty

The Prevent Duty applies to all schools and childcare providers. It sets out the legal duty these organisations have to give, 'due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism'.
