Pupil Premium Funding

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Allocation and Funding

In the 2017 to 2018 financial year, schools receive £1,320 for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years and £1,900 for any pupils who are in, or have been adopted from, local authority care. For this financial year, our school will receive £34,900 in Pupil Premium funding.

Purpose of Funding

Schools must use the funding to raise the attainment and improve the progress of disadvantaged pupils both in comparison to their peers and, to all pupils nationally. Headteachers are free to choose the most effective ways of achieving this within their school.
