Our Values Curriculum

At The Manor, everything we do is underpinned by our six core school values and the guiding Christian principle that every child is unique, made in the image of God. As a Church of England school, our values are rooted in the Christian Faith. However, as a school we recognise that modern Britain today is made up of people from many different faiths, cultures and backgrounds and we seek to celebrate this diversity within our school.
Our school core values enable our children to reflect upon what it means to be a responsible and caring citizen in today's world regardless of a person's faith or beliefs.

We have six core values which reflect the qualities we aspire to develop and promote in our learners- indeed with every member of our school community. Each term, we focus on one of our values:

  • Honesty

  • Friendship

  • Courage

  • Compassion

  • Thankfulness

  • Forgiveness

These values are discussed and explored within the classrooms and through our acts of Collective Worship and assemblies programme. Along with our school expectations for behaviour, our values help to establish a high expectation for our children in terms of how we should behave towards eachother in order to create a safe learning environment in which everyone can make a positive contribution and challenge themselves to be the best that they can be.

We also use 'Pause Points' during worship and in the classroom. These pauses give us time to reflect on big questions and make connections between the Bible, our values and life in today's world.
